TFT Encounters

Stage 4 Egg Encounter

Egg Encounter
Egg Type Hatch Time Avg Reward
Small Egg 4 rounds ~2 components
Medium Egg 9 rounds ~3 components
Large Egg 13 rounds ~5 components
  • Losing a round reduces egg incubation timer by 1 turn each loss
  • Example: Select "4-turn egg", lose twice → egg hatches in only 2 rounds

Egg Choices by Timing

Egg Avg Hatch Round Estimated HP Cost
Small Egg ~Stage 4-3 1 lost round
Medium Egg ~Stage 5-2 3 lost rounds
Large Egg ~Stage 5-6 4-5 lost rounds

Medium Egg is the most balanced choice in most situations

Egg Strategy
Egg selection depends on your current HP and board strength

Egg Strategy - Guidelines When Selecting

Small Egg

  • When below 30 HP
  • Urgent immediate power needed
  • Can't afford to lose multiple rounds

Medium Egg

  • Default selection in most scenarios
  • Balanced risk/reward ratio
  • When between 30-70 HP

Large Egg

  • When above 90 HP
  • Strong potential late-game comps
  • Can safely lose rounds early

Remember: Losing rounds accelerates egg hatching - sometimes losing strategically can be beneficial!

Golem Encounter Overview

Golem Encounter

At the end of Stage 4, you'll select 1 of 3 unique golems that will join your team for the rest of the game.

Three Options Available:

  • Frontline (Tank)
  • Backline (Damage)
  • Economy (Gold Generation)

Strategic Impact:

This choice significantly affects your late-game composition and should align with your overall strategy.

Golem Best Practices (Current Meta)

Frontline Golem

  • Common default selection in Challenger
  • Reliable tanking and frontline presence
  • Works well with most team compositions
Safest choice for consistent performance

Backline Golem

  • Highest damage potential
  • Needs established frontlines
  • Strong with Strategist trait or board-wide buff Augments
Riskier but high reward in right situations

Gold Golem

  • Generates gold over time
  • Weaker tank and damage output
  • Currently considered suboptimal
Not recommended in current meta

Recommended Strategy Summary

Situation Best Egg Choice Recommended Golem
Low HP, need quick boost Small Egg Frontline Golem
Balanced Game Situation Medium Egg Frontline Golem
Very high HP, strong composition Large Egg Backline Golem

Egg Selection Priority

  1. Assess your current HP
  2. Evaluate board strength
  3. Consider future composition

Golem Selection Priority

  1. Frontline (safe choice)
  2. Backline (if strong frontline exists)
  3. Avoid Gold Golem

Key Takeaways & Tips

  • Choose eggs based on your HP status and potential to survive rounds
  • Medium egg is most common, safest choice
  • Frontline Golem currently safest universally
  • Backline Golem excels in situational aggressive composition setups
  • Always avoid the Gold-generating Golem based on current balance

Pro Tip

If you're losing rounds intentionally to hatch your egg faster, make sure to scout opponents to lose to the weakest boards and minimize HP loss.

This strategy is called "loss streaking"
